About
The Military History Museum of Houston is dedicated to preserving military vehicles, uniforms, and equipment used in the defense of our country. The museum’s artifacts represent the memory of Americans who have made sacrifices throughout our history to assure the freedom we enjoy today. The preservation of these historical military artifacts aims to educate and inspire the public, young and old alike, so that we may honor our veterans. The Museum is dedicated to educating our children that freedom does not come without personal sacrifice. It is also our mission to ensure that the memory of our veterans will never be forgotten as we move into the future.

Organization and Financial Strategy
Creating a new educational institution such as the Military History Museum of Houston requires careful planning, bold action, and strong leadership. The Museum has been organized as a 501-c-3 non-profit since 2011, directed by an active civic group that has a stake in the developing east end of Houston and demonstrated organizational ability. The corporation has been created and currently has federal tax-exempt status. Prominent Texans have signed on as directors of the non-profit and will provide guidance to the professional staff in the development of the museum. Initially, the members of the board of directors are as follows.
Chairman: Jesse Hernandez
Secretary: Anna Marie Guzman
Treasurer: Jesse Hernandez
Member: Richard Cortez
Member: Patrick Ezzell
Member: Felix Fraga
Executive Director: Jesus Hernandez
The board will be organized around the business strategy, which will emphasize initial fundraising and coordination with local agencies to ensure a timely and well-publicized opening. Board committees will develop work plans in their particular areas and execute these plans. In particular, the following committees are organized and functioning:
Audit and Finance Committee – responsible for ensuring proper accounting techniques, protection of assets, and coordinating major fundraising activities.
Outreach Committee – responsible for alerting the community of the presence and value of the museum and for preparing a public relations campaign to announce the Museum opening.
Operations Committee – responsible for curatorial issues, safety issues, and other matters related to the operation of the museum.
The board will be assisted by an advisory board of local individuals dedicated to building the Museum into a first-class attraction and educational institution.
